    Energy Transition plan

    Maharashtra is the first state to prepare an Energy Transition plan with an investment of Rs. 3.3 lakh crores. It covers all the three sectors i.e. generation, transmission, and distribution. A Resource Adequacy Plan has been deployed in the state with cost optimization to meet the power demand in the State’s pathway of becoming 1 trillion Dollar Economy. This plan will enhance the state’s existing generating capacity of 36 GW to 81 GW by the year 2030. Thus, it will be adding approximately 45 GW of capacity within the next five years with major contribution from renewable energy sector increasing its contribution from 14% to 53% in the energy portfolio.
